Dunloe Golf Course provides a rare opportunity to play golf on an Irish Heathland golf course. Our greens & tees are of sand construction and fescue is the predominant species of turfgrass on the greens. This provides an excellent introduction to “links style” putting conditions. Many of our visitors from North America have been delighted to come in a play the nine holes in advance of their visits to our illustrious links nearby in Waterville, Ballybunion & Tralee. Our soils are peaty & acidic which results in a tight springy turf from which enable golfers of all standards to hit good golf shots. We have native vegetation of heather, gorse & birch – we hope you do not spend too much time sampling this! Rhododendrons provide vivid colour in the spring and early summer. At Dunloe you will find golf as it was meant to be played. • Our fees are excellent value, • Our course conditions are rugged, natural and unmanicured. • We maintain quality surfaces by biological means without the use of chemicals. • There is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. • Speed of play is generally fast: 3 hours for 18 holes is common practice.
